Avowed: How To Defeat Inquisitor Lodwyn

Here’s a helpful guide for effortlessly mastering the strategy to vanquish Inquisitor Lodwyn during the ultimate showdown in Avowed. Enjoy!

The game concludes with a clash against Inquisitor Lodwyn, who serves as the final adversary. While players may have encountered her previously, this battle is significantly more challenging. Pay close heed to the various stages of this confrontation to effectively respond to Lodwyn’s attacks.

Without a definitive boundary marking these stages, her attacks suggest we might be transitioning into a fresh phase. With this understanding, let’s delve into her attacks across three distinct periods, guiding you on how to effectively deal with each one of them.

Fighting Against Inquisitor Lodwyn in Avowed

The First Phase

The narrative unfolds as you confront the ultimate foe, who subtly recalls the past clash between you two. Yet, despite her warnings, it’s crucial to advance into combat as this is the only way to prove that you have surpassed the might of the final boss.

Initially, the battle primarily revolves around hand-to-hand fighting techniques. Lodwyn is likely to charge towards you with her sword. To counter this, it’s advisable to weave and dodge, shield your strikes, and parry when necessary, as this strategy should help bring the fight close up. I discovered that this approach worked well against the relentless boss. Nevertheless, don’t hesitate to slip in some long-range attacks whenever you can.

Using a two-handed weapon can be advantageous in close combat situations. When engaging up close, be sure to avoid her attacks. It’s relatively simple to dodge her since she moves quite slowly at this stage. Once her health decreases to half, she will kneel down and release a beacon, restoring her full health. This action instantly triggers the next phase.

The Second Phase

After completely recovering from the initial onslaught you inflicted, Lodwyn will switch up her strategies. In this next phase, she’ll unleash an entirely new set of moves against you – among them, she’ll launch fireballs and rocks at you from a distance. To survive, your best bet is to evade these attacks. Be mindful, particularly when she fires a fireball, as it’s crucial to move away quickly and avoid standing still for too long. Also, be aware that being hit by a fireball will cause the Envoy character to catch fire for a brief period.

Additionally, during this stage, Inquisitor Lodwyn could summon her Shadow Minions. It’s uncertain if she’ll call them all at once, but they can certainly cause trouble. Initially, you don’t need to focus on these adversaries, but be prepared to handle them when needed. While she’s summoning her minions, feel free to attack Lodwyn as much as possible. The most effective way to inflict damage on Inquisitor Lodwyn in the second phase of Avowed is by using firearms or any long-range attacks.

Wrapping It Up

In summary, Lodwyn typically summons two Pristine Maegfolcs at the start of a game, but there’s a possibility that she may only summon one initially and call forth the other when she has lost about a third of her HP. This pattern in her summoning might vary slightly.

Again, approach cautiously, maintain a safe distance, and persist with your long-range assaults. Maegfolcs won’t harm you from afar. Eliminate them first for a clearer battlefield against Lodwyn later. Once her minions are down, she’ll amalgamate attacks from both the initial and subsequent stages. Therefore, dodge her melee and ranged assaults by moving around while also slicing and shooting in between. When she starts to slow down, utilize her high mobility to overpower Inquisitor Lodwyn.
