As a cinema aficionado who’s spent countless hours at the Magic Castle, I must say, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming “Now You See Me 3”. The return of the Four Horsemen, coupled with new faces like Ariana Greenblatt and Ruben Fleischer at the helm, promises an enchanting blend of magic, mystery, and suspense.
I visit the Magic Castle approximately every other day for my magic lessons. My magic instructor is simply fantastic, among the top-tier; thus, I’m getting acquainted with a lot of skilled magicians there.
As the cast is already honing their skills, it leaves us eagerly speculating about the fresh illusions that the movie creators are planning for “Now You See Me 3”. This highly anticipated third installment of the crime-thriller series, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman, is set to unveil more enchanting mysteries. As for Greenblatt’s role, no specifics have been disclosed so far; however, given her recent disclosures, it seems she will once again be portraying a magician.
Ariana Greenblatt’s acting career is soaring at an impressive pace, as she has already been featured in multiple blockbusters and well-known series. Recently, she starred alongside Margot Robbie in the box office sensation Barbie, and she also appeared in the Disney+ Star Wars spinoff, Ahsoka. On August 9th, her new film, Borderlands, made its debut in cinemas.
What Happened in Now You See Me & Its Sequel?
As a film enthusiast, I’d say that the original “Now You See Me” is all about a quartet of extraordinary illusionists, fondly referred to as the “Four Horsemen.” These magicians are not your typical entertainers; they execute jaw-dropping heists with an audacious “Robin Hood” spirit, leveraging their talents in illusions, persuasion, sleight of hand, and stagecraft. The charismatic rogues consist of the card virtuoso J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), the hypnotist Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), the nimble pickpocket Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and the graceful stage performer Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher). Simultaneously, they keep the FBI guessing as they dodge their manhunt, while also captivating the interest of Thaddeous Bradley, a former magician turned debunker, who intriguingly remains shrouded in mystery, played by none other than Morgan Freeman.
The first installment of “Now You See Me” left viewers in awe due to its unique premise, polished visuals, and energetic pacing. A stellar cast brought the movie to new heights, resulting in widespread appreciation. Not long after, a follow-up titled “Now You See Me 2” hit screens in 2016. This film carries on the tale of the Four Horsemen as they grapple with a foe who reveals their secrets and puts their lives, honor, and standing at risk. Unlike the original, Isla Fisher was absent from this sequel, replaced by Lizzy Caplan, while “Harry Potter’s” Daniel Radcliffe joined the ensemble.
Despite the second installment receiving less positive criticism, fans eagerly awaited the arrival of a third movie. Director Ruben Fleischer, famous for his work on “Zombieland,” “Venom,” and “Uncharted,” is set to take charge. The storyline’s specifics are as enigmatic as the magic in the films, but the film promises to explore further the origins and secrets of the esteemed magical organization called “The Eye.” In this installment, all four original Horsemen – Ilsa Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Dave Franco – will return, with rumors suggesting that Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman will do the same. Additionally, newcomers such as Greenblat, Rosamund Pike, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa have been added to the cast.
