As a long-time resident of the Asia-Pacific region and a devoted follower of streetwear trends, I can confidently say that the BEAMS x Reebok Instapump Fury 94 is a must-have addition to any sneakerhead’s collection! Having grown up in the era when these shoes took hold as a staple in Japan, Korea, and China, I’ve witnessed firsthand their evolution and influence.
Product Name: BEAMS x Reebok Instapump Fury ’94
In the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Japan, Korea, and China, Reebok’s InstaPump Fury 94 from 1994 has become a cherished streetwear classic over the past three decades. With Japanese designers like noir kei ninomiya and POTR (a sub-label of Porter Yoshida & co) already redesigning this model, Reebok now invites BEAMS to create their unique interpretation of the forward-thinking sneaker.
Following the essence of BEAMS, the recently revealed InstaPump Fury 94 showcases innovative yet contemporary upgrades to its design. The most striking change is the revamped cushioned overlays, now featuring a shiny silver finish and bold black accents that echo the radiance of a knight’s armor.
Instead of laces, two black bandages that match the shoes’ black outsole and heel accents are used in the revised design. White mesh on the upper and midsole creates a neat canvas for silver details to stand out prominently. Additionally, gray tabs are noticeable at both the heel and tongue, maintaining the ongoing chrome-like theme.
At the back, Reebok’s emblem swaps out their usual wordmark for the text “Beams”, which is placed diagonally over the logo. The name ‘BEAMS’ is subtly incorporated onto the air valve area close to the neckline as well.
BEAMS is now distributing the model at its brick-and-mortar stores, and it will be available online at Reebok’s website starting November 7, priced at $230 USD.
