I’ve always been a fan of the enchanting world of Hollywood and its intriguing tales, so when Jenna Ortega and Catherine O’Hara graced the stage of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, it was like stepping into a magical realm where humor and charm reigned supreme.

Last night on Jimmy Fallon’s show, I was caught off-guard by a game of two truths and a lie featuring Jenna Ortega and Catherine O’Hara from the movie Beetlejuice. We shared some intriguing stories, leaving me guessing which ones were fact and which one was fiction. What a thrilling ride!

On August 21st, Ortega was set to be a guest, but unexpectedly, Beetlejuice actress O’Hara, reprising her role as Delia Deetz in the sequel, popped up to play alongside her on-screen granddaughter during the show.

In a rather distinctive fashion, Ortega and O’Hara settled into their chairs, donning costumes reminiscent of “Beetlejuice.” At this point, Fallon outlined the guidelines for the gathering.

Based on my years of experience in solving mysteries, I can tell you this: There are two sealed envelopes here, each holding a confession. One is truthful, while the other one is a fabrication. After reading your confession, the other players and I will have the chance to question you, and our goal is to reach a consensus: Is it the truth or merely a lie? It’s an intriguing game that tests our detective skills and ability to discern between fact and fiction. I’m eager to see how this unfolds!

Ortega and O’Hara quickly put their acting skills to work.

Jenna Ortega missed the Golden Globes because of a champagne-related accident

On the occasion, Ortega adopted a somewhat Wednesday-like serious tone when she conveyed to O’Hara and Fallon, “Yesterday, I accidentally broke my front tooth whilst abroad, just the day prior to the Golden Globe Awards.”

Her statement that the reason was because someone handed her a champagne bottle sparked a playful comment from Fallon, suggesting, “Wow, you sure know how to party! Just swigging from a champagne bottle?”

As for the rumor about me downing a drink, let me set the record straight – it’s just that, a rumor. Surprisingly, my dentist turned out to be exceptionally skilled, and here I am, telling you the tale with my pearly whites on full display.

Ortega jokingly mentioned that she wanted to attend the Golden Globes with a tooth chip, finding it amusing. She shared that during the event, someone dancing with a backpack accidentally bumped into her while she was drinking, causing the chip. In the end, she decided that the tooth chip wasn’t an ideal accessory for her first appearance at the Golden Globes.

Fallon stepped forward, ready to tell a tale from his past involving a close call where it seemed like he might have postponed a Taylor Swift concert due to an unexpected incident with her.

Regardless of Fallon’s claim that it was the finest acting he had ever delivered, Ortega remained unconvinced, implying that if the event described by Fallon had truly occurred, he would have shared the story long before now.

Finally, O’Hara shared a very adorable story that sounded straight out of a “The Californians” sketch from Saturday Night Live, in which she detailed why she was an hour and ten minutes late to her own wedding.

According to O’Hara, he advised against taking the 405, but the driver ignored his advice instead. This left O’Hara questioning how well-acquainted a native Canadian like himself might be with Los Angeles freeways.

However, was her confession genuine? Check out “True Confessions with Jenna Ortega and Catherine O’Hara” above, and catch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on NBC. Stream it the following day on Peacock.
