Bell & Ross Unveils the BR-05 Skeleton Arctic Blue Limited Edition

As a seasoned gamer with an eye for both virtual and real-life aesthetics, I must say that Bell & Ross has once again hit the nail on the head with their BR-05 Skeleton Artic Blue. The design, inspired by 1970s aesthetics, resonates deeply with my retro gaming sensibilities, evoking memories of pixelated ice plains in classic games like Ice Climber or Frozen Bubble.

Following the launch of the captivating BR-X5 timepiece featuring a luminous blue case, Bell & Ross introduces another alluring watch model with a cool tone – the BR-05 Skeleton in Arctic Blue. This newcomer boasts a stainless steel casing and an intriguingly openworked dial design.

Drawing inspiration from the style of the 1970s, this design concept lends the BR-05 a unique, contemporary, and geometric appearance. With a case diameter of 40mm, the model showcases a captivating dial made of blue-tinted glass, intricately etched with irregular lines reminiscent of the cracks seen in ice fields.

To give this icy design an extra touch, a white layer is imprinted using pad printing, mimicking the delicacy of real frost. The skeletonizing method strips away excess details to showcase the intricate workings at the core, while the blue crystal and see-through bezel create the impression of mechanical parts submerged in frozen water.

The open face of the timepiece, boasting 12 permanent markers, beautifully combines mechanical brilliance and artistic finesse. By eliminating unnecessary elements, the watch exposes its core mechanisms, making it more visually captivating. This design decision, accompanied by the unified case and band, embodies Bell & Ross’s dedication to crafting watches that are both practical and aesthetically enticing.

This timepiece runs on the BR-CAL.322-1 automatic movement, which allows it to keep going for up to 54 hours uninterrupted. Only 250 pieces of the BR-05 Skeleton Artic Blue are being produced, and you can buy one through Bell & Ross’s online or physical stores. The rubber strap model costs $7,700 USD, while the stainless steel bracelet version is priced at $8,200 USD.
