Previously this year, we obtained a glimpse of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in the impending Netflix thriller titled RIP. Recently, another view of their weathered appearances from the crime film that delves into the lengths people go for money has been revealed. This is the first time they have appeared together on screen since the 2023 movie AIR, although they have worked on various projects since then, such as The Accountant 2, where Affleck starred and Damon served as executive producer.
The latest images for the film titled “RIP” (provided by Discussing Film) display our bearded stars donning bulletproof vests and Ben Affleck brandishing a gun. Directed by Joe Carnahan, who is known for movies like “The Grey” and “Bad Boys for Life“, “RIP” revolves around a team of Miami policemen unearthing a vast sum of money, causing suspicion as external parties become aware of the substantial find, leading them to ponder whom they can trust. Despite its familiar premise, Affleck himself described it as “compelling” earlier this year.
This is an exciting, captivating journey filled with unexpected twists. It’s a deeply human story with complex layers, and it skillfully incorporates classic cinematic elements that have always resonated with audiences.
Alongside Affleck and Damon, the cast of RIP also includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Nestor Carbonell, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Kyle Chandler, Scott Adkins, and Lina Esco. Filming for this project took place last year in both Los Angeles and New Jersey, with principal photography concluding in December. Although a specific release date has not been announced, the crime thriller is slated to premiere on Netflix towards the end of 2025.
