As a long-time fan of SZA, I’ve been eagerly awaiting her deluxe album “Lana.” The music video for “Drive” is just another testament to her artistic brilliance. The way Bradley J. Calder captured the essence of solitude and longing in the middle of the night, through SZA’s character, was nothing short of mesmerizing.
SZA unveiled the official music video for her song “Drive”, in anticipation of the upcoming deluxe edition of her album titled “SOS: Lana”, which is scheduled to drop on the morning of December 20th.
Under the direction of Bradley J. Calder, the scene portrays the Emmy-winning actor, resembling SZA’s lyrics, cruising aimlessly during the small hours, playing soft tunes, and yearning for someone to be longing for him somewhere. It appears that Stiller relishes the independence of driving solo as he abruptly halts, exits the vehicle, and becomes engrossed in his emotions.
As the song reaches its conclusion by the three-minute mark, my gaze is drawn towards the forest, where it appears SZA, much like a bug, is revealed (in a manner reminiscent of Lana’s album cover). The haunting melody of “Crybaby” begins to echo in the background.
On her Instagram, SZA shared that the release of “Lana” is planned for early in the morning of December 20th. She mentioned that she had to ensure her mixes were perfect, and now all songs have been delivered and are being processed into the system.
