After understanding how Season 1 concluded, there were numerous unanswered questions that needed addressing. To fulfill this obligation, we chose to broaden the scope of the story for the characters who have experienced the outside world. This move allowed us to heighten the drama, delve deeper into the relationships, and explore Mark’s unique predicament as both an innie and an outie. The initial season primarily focused on Mark trying to find his way around this new world. However, now that his innie has stepped outside and discovered a significant truth about his wife, it’s essential to continue that narrative arc and chart the course of his emotional journey, which I believe is all about Mark’s quest to discover his true identity.

During the interview, Stiller was inquired about the possibility of Seasons 3 and 4 for Severance. Although he didn’t provide any specifics, Stiller did indicate that there are indeed plans to produce more episodes of the series, as long as the overall narrative permits such continuation.
