Benny Blanco Made a List of “All the Things I Want” in Future Wife Before Selena Gomez Relationship

Benny Blanco knew exactly what he was looking for before falling in love with Selena Gomez.

The pair who became engaged in December of the previous year recently featured on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, sharing insights into their loving bond.

Once upon a time, I, being guided by my therapist, took the time to jot down a list of qualities and aspirations I desired in a potential partner. It wasn’t until later that I found myself in a romantic relationship with the talented artist behind “Lose You To Love Me.

Prior to our encounter, I was a man in L.A., searching for my soulmate but struggling with it a bit, as the songwriter and record producer confessed. He hinted that perhaps he wasn’t searching in the appropriate spots.

Blanco went on saying, “I decided it was time to grow up, to establish a life, start a family, and find someone who complements me perfectly – someone who makes me feel whole and whom I make feel whole in return. It’s about balance, the ideal harmony, so I jotted down a list.

When host Jay Shetty inquired about the details, Blanco responded by revealing that the “initial point I penned down” was a requirement for his future spouse to be “of an age that is suitable,” specifically someone who is “thirty and above.

He continued by stating the second point – a rare find indeed – was seeking an individual who embodies kindness, compassion, and care. He expressed, ‘It’s almost like finding one person with three qualities, but what I truly need is simply a kind person, someone authentic.’

Gomez, currently on a press tour with her fiancé for their latest collaborative album titled “I Said I Love You First“, has been candid about their partnership since they went public in December 2023. Last year, she shared with The Hollywood Reporter that this relationship is the most secure she’s ever felt in.

Last month, I shared in an interview with Interview magazine why spending five years on my own was crucial before diving into a serious relationship with a record producer.

At that point, Gomez expressed that Ben’s actions truly made him understand someone better. Interestingly, Ben tends to be uncomfortable when I say this, but honestly, ten years ago, I wasn’t at a place in my life where I could have embraced the level of patience and unconditional love that he shows me.
