The XDefiant M249 is no exception. Its raw power and versatility have captured my attention, making it a go-to choice for me in close-to-mid range engagements.

In simpler terms, the M249 performs exceptionally well in close and mid-range battles within XDefiant, making it the most versatile light machine gun among its peers. Despite its impressive base statistics, there’s plenty of room for improvement by selecting an optimal weapon setup.

Attachments

  • Rear Grip: Lightweight Grip

In my opinion, the Stabilizing Barrel is a decent addition for more stable horizontal and vertical shooting, while the Tactical Grip effectively addresses its downsides by enhancing both recoil recovery and the speed at which you can aim down sights.

Using a Reflex Sight as your optic selection is ideal for short-to-mid range viewing, offering superior performance without any disadvantages, making it an excellent addition to enhance your vision.

At the rear end, you can begin with the “Lightweight Grip” for improved recoil recovery and swifter ADS (Aim Down Sight) movement. Lastly, the “Padded Stock” adds stability and control during ADS, helping you maintain focus on your target even after being fired upon.

You can try out other options by equipping a Chrome Lined Barrel and PEQ-15 Front Rail accessory. These upgrades enhance your gun’s performance for closer to mid-range shots, as well as improve hip-fire accuracy. They are particularly useful in confined spaces or smaller maps.
