2025’s Bhaav Event is India’s grandest cultural gathering, blending tradition with modernity in a thrilling three-day extravaganza. From January 23 to 26, this event unfolds at the Art of Living International Center, providing an unmatched experience for 600 delegates and artists. With more than 70 performances, Bhaav breaks down barriers, offering a diverse mix of art, spirituality, and novelty. A festival as colorful and lively as India itself.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned global humanitarian and spiritual leader, believes that every culture carries unique value. He suggests that if any one culture, religion, or civilization vanishes, it leaves the world impoverished because each one adds to our global cultural wealth. Therefore, it’s crucial for us to protect and cherish all cultures as part of our shared human legacy.
To demonstrate his complete backing for Indian heritage and artistic community, the Honorable Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, is expected to attend the summit as well.
A Festival of Inclusivity and Celebration
2025’s Bhaav event marks a significant leap in promoting inclusivity, focusing on the impressive accomplishments of India’s transgender community. Renowned figure Padmashri Manjamma Jogathi, pioneer in Jogathi dance and first transgender president of Karnataka Janapada Academy, will captivate us with her compelling life story. Alongside her, the charismatic Sushant Divgikar, whose stirring portrayal of Rani Ko-He-Nur showcases the fusion of artistic prowess and activism, will also be present. Completing this colorful event is a troupe of 10 transgender Bharatnatyam dancers led by Ratri Das, who will perform the breathtaking Saptamatrika, embodying divine feminine power.
An Unmissable Lineup of Legends
Get ready to experience unforgettable shows featuring some of India’s most esteemed artists. These legendary figures include Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh, the 93-year-old Veena master R. Vishweshvaran, and the 88-year-young Mridangam expert Vidwan A.V. Anand, along with Kathak master Maneesha Sathe and Carnatic stalwart Ratnam Rajam Shankar. In addition, contemporary artists like Aditi Mangaldas will bring a fresh perspective, merging Kathak with modern dance styles.
Reviving Heritage and Celebrating Diversity
Bhaav isn’t simply a celebration; it’s a drive to rejuvenate and honor India’s rich artistic heritage. In the limelight for this year is Maach, an age-old folk theater from Madhya Pradesh. Thanks to the pioneering efforts of Padmashri Omprakash Sharma, this traditionally male-centric art form now embraces female performers, revitalizing a vanishing heritage.
A Symphony of Music and Dance
At Bhaav 2025, we’re bringing together the soulful melodies of instruments such as sitar and veena with the rhythmic vibrancy of tabla and mridangam to create a stunning symphony of Indian music. Our dance performances span styles like Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, as well as popular forms such as Lavani, Chhau, and Theyyam, painting a captivating cultural tapestry.
