At the special TopMob Masterclass during IFP Season 14, Kartik Aaryan was asked if he can turn his acting abilities on and off like a switch. Kartik reminisced about working on Chandu Champion for approximately two years before transitioning to the set of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Kartik revealed that director Anees Bazmee encouraged him to bring a lot of enthusiasm during filming for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
The actor revealed, “Since his performance was very subtle for a long time, suddenly its intensity became extremely high. It took me two days to match this tone. While watching myself on the monitor, I couldn’t help but wonder if I was overacting.
Ever since I got hooked, I found myself slipping into a pattern – from the enchanting world of Chandu Champion to the thrilling challenge of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Let me tell you, making that leap wasn’t easy!
Actor Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety posted that the sports drama, Chandu Champion, had a deep emotional impact on him and he grew fond of it throughout its production. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan reflected on his experience playing India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar in Kabir Khan’s movie, recalling that he deeply identified with the character during filming.
He found the transition to be challenging due to the strong emotional arc of that movie and because he had developed a deep connection with it, which seemed to come from another world…He was simply existing, much like the character Murlikant in real life, he admitted in Hindi.
Kartik found himself transitioning from the world of Chandu Champion to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which felt like stepping into a completely different movie,” he concluded.

For those not familiar, the actor Kartik Aaryan played the role of Murlikant Petkar in the movie Chandu Champion. This biographical sports drama also included Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma among others. It hit the screens in June this year.
Under the guidance of director Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marks the third chapter in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series. In this upcoming movie, Kartik Aaryan takes center stage alongside Triptii Dimri as the main characters. The horror-comedy features notable performances by Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit in significant roles. Additionally, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, and Sanjay Mishra round out the cast in supporting roles.
Kartik will once again play Rooh Baba, a role he had in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, while Vidya Balan returns to the series following the initial film Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). The original movie from 2007, directed by Priyadarshan, starred Akshay Kumar.
