Rajkummar Rao, known for his down-to-earth demeanor and modest living, has shared that he didn’t choose to replace his old car; instead, he succumbed to peer pressure.
During an interview with Filmigyan about his upcoming movie Bhool Chuk Maaf, the actor shared that material possessions don’t hold much appeal for him. Rajkummar Rao, in particular, confessed to keeping his 10-year-old Audi Q7 not because he couldn’t buy a new one, but rather because he didn’t feel compelled to replace it.
Rajkummar expressed that he isn’t particularly drawn to worldly possessions, “Instead,” he explained, “I find value in relationships. To me, as long as I have my dear ones by my side, it doesn’t really matter where I am or what kind of car I drive.
Although he cherished his simple lifestyle, persistent feedback from those around him eventually prompted him to upgrade. “People would say, ‘It’s good enough now, you should change the car.’ So, I ultimately decided to buy a new one. It’s been about two to two-and-a-half years since then,” he said with a grin.
In terms of his acting career, Rajkummar Rao will appear next in the movie “Bhool Chuk Maaf.” This romantic comedy takes place in Varanasi and revolves around Ranjan, portrayed by Rajkummar, who finds himself stuck in a time loop as he attempts to marry his beloved, Titli, played by Wamiqa Gabbi. Alongside Rajkummar and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film features Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain, and Seema Pahwa. The movie is helmed by director Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films.
Nestled in the lively city of Varanasi, Bhool Chuk Maaf unfolds around Ranjan, who is determined to gain the approval of his fiancée Titli’s family. As their wedding arrangements seem to be falling perfectly into place, they find themselves caught in a whirlwind of laughter and confusion due to an odd time loop incident, causing chaos, perplexity, and unforeseen twists in their love tale.
Maddock Films and Amazon’s MGM Studios have revealed that the family-friendly movie, “Bhool Chuk Maaf,” will debut globally on Amazon Prime Video on May 16th.
