It’s been shared that Billy Joel has been diagnosed with a condition called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). He himself has made this announcement, and as a result, he has decided to postpone his forthcoming performances.
Joel’s team told Rolling Stone that his condition has worsened due to recent concerts, causing issues with hearing, sight, and balance. Following the advice of his doctor, Billy is undergoing specialized physical therapy and has been advised to rest during this recovery phase. He is grateful for the care he is receiving and is determined to focus on his health.
Joel expressed his heartfelt apologies, “I’m truly sorry to let down our viewers. I appreciate your understanding.
Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus refers to a condition characterized by an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid within the brain’s ventricles, which can be considered as an imbalance in the flow or absorption of this fluid.
Joel’s upcoming tour included 17 shows in stadiums across North America and England.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the 2025 Tribeca Festival kicks off on June 4, marking its opening with an extraordinary event – the world premiere of “Billy Joel: And So It Goes,” a captivating two-part HBO documentary. This project delves deep into the life and music of the legendary Billy Joel, offering unique insights through never-before-seen performances, home movies, personal photos, and exclusive interviews. Can’t wait to be there!
More to come.
