As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration as Black Ops 6 gears up for Season 1 Reloaded. The prospect of new maps, augments, and gobblegums is tantalizing, yet the ongoing visual bug that’s been plaguing our gameplay experiences leaves much to be desired.
In a fresh update, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has shared details about their upcoming Season 1 Reloaded, featuring a host of exciting new elements including novel augmentations, unique gobblegums, and a brand-new Call of Duty: Zombies map.
In Season 1 Reloaded, it’s packed with exciting content, but players are finding it challenging to hit their targets in Black Ops 6 because of a known issue. Fortunately, this problem has already been acknowledged by both Treyarch and Raven Software.
Yet, Call of Duty appeared to have a contrasting perspective on this matter, referring to the problem as a mere visual anomaly, specifically an “erroneous visual blood effect.” Players, however, were quick to point out that it isn’t solely a visual glitch, but also concerns the accuracy of hit registration.
Consequently, numerous videos emerged within the community displaying gamers spreading blood haphazardly all over, due to the glitch. It seems as though Call of Duty players are now engaged in a paintball-like version of the game given how the blood splatters scatter around walls and characters.
I recently took to the game’s subreddit to voice my own, as well as many others’, dismay over an issue that seems to be misleading us about a bug. It appears that when we fire full magazines, we’re not dealing any damage whatsoever, making it seem like we’re shooting at a bag of moving Jell-O instead of our targets. This leaves us feeling rather frustrated and questioning the gameplay.
Another Call of Duty fan even mentioned in a separate Reddit post that the game registers the damage client-side but the server has trouble checking whether these are actual damage, probably due to some missing objects or vehicles in the map.
These missing objects are visually absent but can still block the bullets from dealing damage.
The developers Treyarch and Raven Software have listed this problem on their Trello board, allowing players to monitor its progress. Currently, there are no new developments concerning the issue, so players must be patient and wait for further information before they can advance beyond the game’s paintball shooting stage.
