fans have plenty to look forward to courtesy of an underrated streaming service.
During the month of May, the free streaming platform, Pluto TV, is hosting a special event called Ani-May, showcasing the vast universe of anime. Although Pluto TV already offers numerous channels dedicated to popular series like Naruto, Death Note, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Sailor Moon, this year they’re extending their anime selection more than ever before. In fact, there will be multiple movie marathons for individual series, such as a Bleach marathon scheduled for May 17.
Pluto TV Celebrates “Ani-May” With Bleach Movie Marathon
Scott Reich, Pluto TV’s Senior Vice President of Programming, recently talked about Ani-May and the launch of a brand new Kids Anime channel. In an official announcement, he mentioned that this category revamp strengthens Pluto TV’s connection with the anime community, catering to its enthusiastic and dedicated fanbase. Whether you’re a seasoned anime lover or just starting out, our expanded Anime section has content for everyone to enjoy. Reich added that this update demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent, free programming tailored to specific audiences, aiming to create a streaming experience that resonates deeply with fans.
Deriving from the prolonged manga series by Tite Kubo, Bleach debuted in 2004 and swiftly gained popularity as an exciting new anime phenomenon. In a typical high school setting, our protagonist, Ichigo, is suddenly drawn into a realm of extraordinary combatants and horrifying entities referred to as Hollow, which are spirit-devouring beings that have forsaken their human essence. As Ichigo assumes the responsibilities of a Soul Reaper, he embarks on an exhilarating journey filled with breathtaking escapades, accompanied by companions such as his fellow Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki, who grants him a slice of her remarkable abilities.
From 2004 to 2012, I observed as the captivating anime series Bleach unfurled over a span of 366 episodes. Fast forward to 2022, and I found myself enthralled once more as a brand-new chapter began for this beloved franchise with its debut. The third season (or cours) came to an end in December, but the fourth, titled “The Calamity,” has yet to announce a definite release date. Fans like me are keeping their fingers crossed that the next installment will drop sometime this year, although whispers suggest that we might have to wait until 2026 for the series’ return.
Pluto TV’s Bleach movie marathon begins Saturday, May 17.
