- Bloons Card Storm, the PvP spin-off of the popular tower-defence series, is out now
- In it, you take on opponents, competing to overwhelm them with units while holding off their own forces
- Mix and match iconic monkeys, while taking command of your former opponents, the bloons!
As a seasoned gamer with years of tower defense battles under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of monkey business – but nothing quite like Bloons Card Storm! The moment I heard about this PvP spin-off, I knew it was time to dust off my strategy hat and prepare for some serious card shuffling.
Fans accustomed to the Bloons tower defense series are typically engaged in monkey-related activities due to controlling a monkey team. However, that’s not the case with Bloons Card Storm! This is because you’ll now have the opportunity to showcase your tower defense skills in player versus player battles as Bloons Card Storm launches today.
In Card Storm, instead of solely guarding against an approaching swarm of Bloons using your preferred monkeys, you also employ different cards to attack your opponents as well. The objective is to safeguard your hero monkey while simultaneously trying to eliminate the other players’ forces.
Kickstarting the adventure with four unique characters, over 130 cards, and five diverse battlefields, Bloons Card Storm promises further development as it introduces cross-platform compatibility and private match options. This means you can engage in battles with your friends, regardless of their chosen platform.
Ape out
It appears that Bloons Card Storm is a logical advancement for the franchise, given the incredible strategies I’ve witnessed in the traditional Bloons games and the insanely challenging difficulty levels that demonstrate a dedicated fanbase eager to showcase their skills. What could be more fitting than encouraging Bloons enthusiasts to compete against each other?
Indeed, it’s true that similar concepts have been explored before, such as in Bloons TD Battles. However, Bloons Card Storm introduces an additional layer of gameplay through deckbuilding, and furthermore, it is accessible on a broader range of platforms than the Apple Arcade-exclusive TD Battles.
