As a devoted fan of animated series, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Bluey is making its way to the big screen! Having grown up with a blue heeler dog myself, the relatable and heartwarming adventures of this loveable canine family have been a constant source of joy for me.

The highly successful Disney+ animated series is set to have a feature film produced by The Walt Disney Company and BBC Studios. This movie will be penned and directed by Joe Brumm, creator of “Bluey.” As stated by the production companies, the film will carry on the escapades of Bluey, an adorable, tireless, blue heeler dog who resides with her mom, dad, and little sister, Bingo.
In 2027, the computer-animated movie will make its way to cinemas under the Disney label, and later become available for streaming on Disney+ following its premiere. The film features voice actors from the series, such as Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack portraying Bluey’s parents, Chilli and Bandit Heeler. Additionally, music in the movie is composed by Joff Bush, who is known for his work on “Bluey”.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been hooked on Bluey, a show that’s taken over Disney+ by storm! It consistently ranks among the most-watched series on the platform. The special episode titled ‘The Sign’ attracted more than 10 million viewers globally, and since then, a few fresh episodes have been gradually released.
Besides boosting Bluey’s popularity, it has significantly increased earnings for BBC Studios, the commercial division of the British broadcasting corporation. This increase is largely due to revenue generated from merchandise sales and licensing agreements.
Originating from Australia by Brumm, this series swiftly resonated worldwide among children and families, captivated by the show’s emphasis on imagination and creativity, along with its powerful emotional depth.

Brumm expressed his delight in expanding ‘The Sign’ series’ longer format from Series 3 into a feature film, as it feels like a logical progression. He has long believed that Bluey would thrive on the big screen and aims to make this cinematic experience an enjoyable event for the entire family. He looks forward to collaborating once more with Cecilia Persson, Tom Fussell, BBC Studios, and Dana Walden, Alan Bergman, and Disney to share this new Bluey tale in theaters.
Disney and BBC Studios are collaborating with Ludo Studio to produce the film, with seasoned animation producer Amber Naismith (known for her work on “The Lego Movie” and “Happy Feet”) taking charge of production. David Greenbaum, who heads up Disney’s live action and 20th Century Studios team, will be responsible for overseeing the project from Disney’s end.
