The storyline depicts lethal snow falling from above, taking lives as it touches anyone. However, this initial similarity quickly gives way to an intriguing twist on the classic “body snatchers” alien invasion theme, as it unveils that several surviving humans are actually under the control of extraterrestrial beings.

In “The Eternaut,” while it doesn’t offer detailed explanations, there are suggestions that the aliens exert control over humans by implanting mind-controlling devices in their brains, which bears resemblance to the events in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” The initial, somewhat vague approach taken in “The Eternaut” season 1 suggests that the classic alien invasion concept in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” has potential for developing into a comprehensive series.

Since then, no recent news has been shared regarding this remake, leaving its fate unclear. However, it’s possible that Warner Bros. could find inspiration from Netflix’s “The Eternaut” adaptation of the original Jack Finney tale and transform it into a complete TV series instead.
