As a seasoned gamer and a connoisseur of both football culture and underground music, this Boiler Room x Umbro collaboration has piqued my interest. I’ve spent countless hours immersed in virtual stadiums, cheering for my favourite teams, and now, it seems the lines between reality and gaming are blurring even further.
Following their collaboration for a capsule inspired by raves during the previous summer, the underground music platform Boiler Room and the British sportswear company Umbro have reunited to release more football-themed designs suitable for both clubs and pitches.
The collection offers outfits to wear from morning till night, modernizing traditional sportswear items such as hoodies, tracksuits, warm-up jerseys, game uniforms, and T-shirts with a forward-looking twist. Both brands’ symbolism is featured on the front of these pieces, predominantly in black and grey. Track jackets bear both logos on their chests, while traditional jerseys come in navy, white, and red, bearing the phrase “Boiler Room” across the body. As for hoodies and T-shirts, they combine elements from both brands, placing Umbro’s emblem above Bolier Room’s lettering.
Celebrating 100 years of Umbro, their latest collection features Evian Christ and “the legends,” who are regular figures at his long-running event TranceParty. The fashion aesthetic is inspired by their previous lively campaign, where UK club culture photographer Ewen Spencer captured the vibrant atmosphere with his lens, focusing on Umbro’s initial lineup.
On this coming Thursday, September 18th, at 7 a.m. Eastern Time, the new collaboration between Boiler Room and Umbro will debut online. Initially, the collection will be accessible only to Boiler Room members before it’s made available to the general public. Check out the gallery above for a sneak peek of what’s to come.
