‘Bridgerton’ Begins Filming as Netflix Shares First-Look of Season 4’s Luke Thompson, Yerin Ha

As a die-hard Bridgerton fan who has eagerly awaited each season like a Regency-era socialite anticipates the start of the ball season, I am absolutely thrilled to see that production for season four has commenced! The casting of Yerin Ha as Sophie and Luke Thompson as Benedict is an inspired choice, and I can’t wait to witness their on-screen chemistry unfold.

The production for Bridgerton’s fourth season has formally begun, with Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha taking on prominent roles as the new leads in this upcoming chapter.

On Monday, the streaming service unveiled a sneak peek of the fresh pairing to X with the comment: “Stand up for Sophie Baek & Benedict Bridgerton!!! Here’s your first official image of Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson while filming Bridgerton Season 4. Now, officially in production.

Australian-Korean actress Ha was cast as the second half of “Benophie” earlier this month.

It signifies another round of balls, hoop skirts, and Regency-era flirtation with Thompson and Ha portraying adored personalities Benedict and Sophie, joined by their co-stars Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan, and Luke Newton.

Instead of Benedict Bridgerton, the second-born Bridgerton brother, reluctant to establish a home – this refusal ceases when he encounters an enthralling Lady in Silver (or to put it another way, Sophie, as readers of the books will recognize) at his mother’s masquerade gathering.

This past summer, “Polin,” starring Coughlan and Newton in season three, gained massive popularity on the streaming platform, setting new viewership records as one of its most-watched series.

Initially, during the early weeks following its global launch, Netflix’s data showed that season three’s first half was viewed for a total of 45.05 million hours, which equates to approximately how many hours each episode lasted combined.

According to Showrunner Jess Brownell, who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in June, fans will have to wait about two years before season four airs. While the team is attempting to expedite production, it’s a lengthy process: eight months are spent filming, followed by editing, dubbing into various languages, and extensive writing. As a result, they’re operating on a roughly two-year schedule, but are striving for improvement.

This drama, based on the novels of Julia Quinn and produced by Shonda Rhimes’ esteemed production house Shondaland, features performances from actors like Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell.
