Sometimes being a spy, even a fake one on TV, can lead to serious bodily harm.
During the Fandemic Tour in 2023, screen legend Bruce Campbell reminisced about his most severe acting injury—a pulled hamstring—occurring on the set of USA Network’s Burn Notice, during a scene where he had to engage in a fight with a stuntman.
Bruce Campbell says his worst acting injury came on the set of Burn Notice
In a TikTok video shared by fandomspotlite, the individual is seen lying on the ground and says to the director, “Should I continue?” To which he replies, “Cut it. Hurry up and get a vehicle here as I’ve finished. Take this model away!” He also explains that people say, “He’s hamstrung,” because if you injure your hamstring, you can’t perform effectively.
I was swiftly whisked off to a healthcare center, but unfortunately, my situation didn’t miraculously turn around then and there.
In the X-ray room, the woman said to me, “Lay this flat here and we’ll take the X-ray.” I replied, “I can’t bend it beyond this point though.” She responded, “Well, in that case, we won’t be able to get a clear X-ray, will we?” I thought to myself, “She’s so unhelpful! I’m just trying to do my job!” So she secured it flat. As a result, more damage occurred as she straightened it. Thirty-six hours later, I was still on set, sitting in a car, and there were numerous scenes filmed during that time where I kept my leg elevated on various surfaces.
For More on Stunts
Are the stunts in The Fall Guy truly fictional? Director David Leitch hints at mind-blowing real effects. The clever trick Tom Cruise employed for Mission: Impossible’s legendary vault scene is unveiled, while Glen Powell discusses the breathtaking practical twister stunts.
In this rephrased version, I aimed to keep the original structure and essence of the text but made it more straightforward and easy to read. The focus remains on the realness or practicality of the stunts in the mentioned shows and movies while also highlighting interesting details about specific scenes and techniques used by actors like Tom Cruise.

Throughout the seven-season span from 2007 to 2013, Campbell portrayed the character of a semi-retired Navy Seal turned independent spy, Axe. Despite his desire for a peaceful life in sunny Miami, sipping cocktails and basking in the warmth of his pension, he is lured back into the world of espionage by former burned covert operative Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan). Westen operates as a freelance troubleshooter, assisting those with no other options, while simultaneously seeking to regain his old position.
Frequently, Sam found himself involved in Michael’s diverse plots and deceits against questionable characters. Interestingly, Mr. Axe assumed the well-known alias “Chuck Finley.” This character was also the main focus in his own television movie, “Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe“, a prequel story that took place before the show’s events and featured Pedro Pascal prior to his rise to stardom.
Over the past summer, I found myself expressing my desire for a comeback of the beloved series “Burn Notice.” Speaking with ComicBook, I shared my thoughts, saying, “It’s high time we brought back ‘Burn Notice.’ There are plenty of villains lurking around the globe who need to be taken down. Thankfully, none of our cast is deceased, whether in real life or through their characters. Therefore, let’s produce a two-hour movie. I’m making every effort to make this dream a reality.
It’s quite likely, as both Psych and Monk have come back in movie format on Peacock.
