In the grand expanse of a distant galaxy, there are numerous tales to delve into beyond the escapades of the Skywalkers alone. Although some have been met with varying success, Disney+’s offerings have been abundant, and it seems the pool of characters with their own narratives is endless. There’s even talk that Mace Windu might make a comeback, but what has everyone excited is the possibility of a spinoff focusing on him and his signature purple lightsaber. If this becomes truth, I can hardly contain my excitement!
During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, filmmaker and actress Bryce Dallas Howard was inquired about actors she’d enjoy directing. Among others, she mentioned Chris Pratt, her co-star, and Samuel L. Jackson, expressing interest in him as a potential project collaborator.
Sam Jackson consistently expresses his support for me and has mentioned on several occasions that he would be willing to star in a production I direct. Frankly, it feels almost unbelievable to me, as if I don’t deserve such recognition.
After that, Howard decided to approach Dave Filoni directly, seeking a method to develop a Mace Windu spin-off series. Given the uncertainty surrounding his character’s fate, this move was also an expression of the questions many fans have raised over the years about whether or not Windu is indeed deceased. Howard pressed on, posing to Filoni the question that has long puzzled us fans: “Is Mace Windu still alive?
Then I headed directly to Dave Filoni and asked, “Hey, could we discuss Mace Windu for a moment? I’m curious, is he still alive? Or has something happened to him?
Previously, Jackson hinted at this speculation, mentioning Mace Windu might be residing on the same planet as Ray Arnold from Jurassic Park. Even Hayden Christiansen, a fellow actor, added fuel to the fire with his remarks about the possibility of Windu still being alive. Given that Mace Windu is among the beloved characters from the Star Wars saga, it’s understandable that both fans and cast members yearn for more appearances of this Jedi Master in the prequels they longed for.
Considering the acclaim of shows like “Kenobi,” “Andor,” and “Ahsoka,” a series centered around Mace Windu could potentially captivate audiences, assuming they handle it appropriately. Since actor Samuel L. Jackson has expressed enthusiasm for such a project, it may follow a similar vein to Ewan McGregor’s desire to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi once more.
As someone who’s been a devoted fan for quite some time, I can’t help but express my eagerness for additional appearances of the Jedi who masterfully wields the purple lightsaber. The idea is captivating, and it would be even more intriguing if he managed to survive the tumultuous events portrayed in Revenge of the Sith. With his presence, there’s a wealth of untold stories that could unfold, offering an insightful glimpse into the galaxy’s state post-Order 66.
In any case, Samuel L. Jackson is eager to participate in any possible Bryce Dallas Howard venture, whether it’s a Star Wars project or something else entirely. Personally, I can’t wait to find out what Bryce has in store for us, and if, by chance, we might get to see Master Windu involved as well.
