From his humble beginnings in Kansas City to his meteoric rise as a TV talent agent and executive producer, Cal’s life was a testament to the power of passion, determination, and a zest for life.


Cal Boyington, an esteemed television talent agent with years of experience and one of the founders of Vital Artists Agency, passed away at the age of 53. He had also served as executive producer on the series ‘Workaholics’.

On November 18th, it was discovered that Boyington was unconscious at his home in San Pedro. The Hollywood Reporter reports that while a heart attack is suspected as the cause, the medical examiner awaits the results of toxicology tests to confirm this definitively.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri (born on March 3, 1971), this individual spent his formative years in Vail, Colorado. With aspirations in the entertainment world, he eventually moved to Los Angeles, California.

Before establishing Vital Artists Agency in 2020, Boyington had previously served as an unscripted talent representative at ICM Partners and held the position of head of alternative programming at Paradigm Talent Agency. In his role as an agent, he contributed to the production of the MTV reality show The Osbournes.

Additionally, Boyington demonstrated a deep-seated interest in production, spending several years as an executive producer at Manolin Entertainment. Later, he transitioned to Rebel Entertainment Partners where he served as Vice President for digital and television content. In his role as a producer, he contributed to various projects such as “Workaholics”, “R5Sons Alaska”, “Bible Quest”, “Cabo”, and “Baker Boys: Inside the Surge”.
