Call Me Bae Trailer OUT: Ananya Panday is ready to hustle in Mumbai in series co-starring Vir Das, Varun Sood; watch out for epic Siddhant Chaturvedi connection

As someone who has lived and breathed Bollywood for as long as I can remember, the upcoming series “Call Me Bae” has me absolutely thrilled! It’s not just about the star power – Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Varun Sood, and more – but it’s the storyline that really hooks me.

The countdown to the release of the highly anticipated series Call Me Bae has begun. It marks the debut web series of actress Ananya Panday, in which she will be joined by an ensemble cast of Vir Das, Varun Sood, and more. The trailer of the show has now been released that gives the audience a glimpse into the entertainment as Ananya’s Bae gets ready to hustle in Mumbai. It also has an epic connection to Siddhant Chaturvedi.

On August 20, 2024, the preview of the upcoming web series titled “Call Me Bae” was shared on various social media outlets. In this 2-minute, 34-second sneak peek, we meet Ananya Panday’s character, Bae, who is born into affluence. Surrounded by wealth and luxury throughout her life, she enjoys a privileged existence. However, one day her privilege vanishes, and she must begin anew.

In a fresh turn of events, the character played by Bae makes her way to Mumbai and lands a job as a journalist. Alongside Vir Das and Varun Sood, she embarks on a personal journey aimed at self-discovery. The preview also features a humorous nod to Siddhant Chaturvedi. In one scene, Ananya can be seen conversing with a security guard, saying “I’m the one who is struggling, brother,” to which he responds, “The fulfillment of our dreams lies within your struggle.”

In simpler terms, Ananya’s statement can be paraphrased as “I feel like I’ve heard that line before.” This is a reference to a comment made by Siddhant Chaturvedi in an earlier interview with Rajeev Masand, where he said “The struggle for them begins where our dreams are fulfilled.” This statement gained significant attention online.

The forthcoming television series titled “Call Me Bae” is the brainchild of Ishita Moitra and helmed by Collin D’Cunha. In addition to Ananya Panday, this show features Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur as its stars.

As a passionate television enthusiast with years of experience in the industry, I have come across many series that leave me feeling unfulfilled and lacking depth. However, when I discovered the show created by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, I was immediately captivated by its rich narrative and compelling characters. What sets this series apart is not only the brilliant writing but also the production company behind it – Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd., led by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Their collective vision for storytelling resonates deeply with me as someone who values authenticity and emotional depth in my entertainment choices. This series has become a staple in my viewing rotation, and I eagerly await each new episode to unravel the complexities of its narrative.

The trailer’s explanation suggests: “Can a South Delhi royal find her niche in the ‘City of Dreams?’ Regardless, an engaging story full of surprises is coming up!” Karan Johar previously unveiled the series plot. He stated, “Once a heiress, now a hustler, Bae learns that her true wealth lies not in diamonds but in street smarts and elegance. Struggling financially yet determined not to succumb, she journeys through Mumbai’s newsrooms, encountering suitors, sisters, and self-improvement.”

Call Me Bae is scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime Video on September 6, 2024.
