As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I have been fortunate enough to witness the journey of many promising actors, and Ananya Panday is one of them who has caught my attention. Her career may be just five years old, but her maturity, confidence, and commitment to speaking up for what she believes in are commendable.
Actress Ananya Panday initially entered the film industry through Karan Johar’s movie, “Student of the Year 2,” which was released in 2019 alongside Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. Over the past five years, she has featured in a limited number of productions, with her most recent role being the lead character in “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” in 2023. Lately, Ananya shared her thoughts on certain problematic aspects within the script for the film “Liger,” expressing her discomfort. Fortunately, the production team made revisions based on her input, and she expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
In a fresh chat with Sucharita Tyagi, Ananya Panday highlighted certain potential issues (or “warning signs”) she noticed when reading the script of the film Liger, which stars Vijay Deverakonda. She explained that it’s her duty as a woman to bring attention to these aspects in her work approach.
In the movie Liger, Ananya pointed out several parts of the script that she found problematic as a woman, saying, ‘This just doesn’t feel right for me to say.’ She was pleased to note that the filmmakers adjusted these parts and made improvements based on her feedback, stating, “I’m glad I spoke up about it at the time.”
In addition, Ananya emphasized that she feels it’s her duty, being a woman, to challenge and criticize inappropriate parts in the script. Moreover, as a youthful member of Gen-Z, she discussed the significance of advocating for what is right and highlighted the urgency of discussing women’s security in our society.
In a recent conversation with India Today, Ananya Panday was asked if she has a strategy for handling criticisms from audiences. She responded by saying that, given the nature of her work, it’s more like a passing stage for her rather than something she actively defends against.
In further discussion, the star from Kho Gaye Hum Kahan revealed that she is venturing into new and challenging career paths. Ananya pointed out that her self-esteem is influenced by public opinion and critique about her professional work. Yet, when it comes to her private life, the actress from Call Me Bae shared that she doesn’t pay much heed to negative comments or criticism directed at her personal affairs.
In 2022, Ananya Panday entered the Telugu film industry with “Liger.” This movie featured Vijay Deverakonda playing two roles: Lion Tiger Balram Agarwal and Sashwath Agarwal, also known as Liger, who was a mixed martial arts athlete. In this film, Liger had a speech impediment. Ananya Panday was chosen for the role of his love interest named Tanya.
2022’s sports drama saw significant contributions from actors like Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, Chunky Panday, and Makarand Deshpande, playing pivotal characters. This marked Vijay’s debut in Bollywood, while boxing legend Mike Tyson graced the film with an extended guest appearance.
Following the film “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan”, Ananya made a special appearance as herself in the movie “Bad Newz”. Later, she lent her voice for a cameo role in Akshay Kumar’s latest release, “Khel Khel Mein”. Some of her other films include “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, “Khaali Peeli”, “Gehraaiyaan”, and the upcoming film “Dream Girl 2”.
I, a dedicated follower, am eagerly waiting for the launch of my debut series, “Call Me Bae,” set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 6 of this year. Under the esteemed banner of Dharmatic Entertainment, this series features an impressive ensemble cast including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur. Post its release, I will be gearing up for future projects such as “CTRl” and “Shankara.”
