As a gamer with a soft spot for Hollywood tales, I must say, Cameron Diaz‘s journey is one that resonates deeply. Ten years of self-discovery, family building, and entrepreneurial ventures – it’s not every day we see a star reclaim her life like this.
Following her rise as a major star in Hollywood, Cameron Diaz took a break from public life in 2014. However, ten years have passed since then, and with various upcoming ventures on the horizon, Diaz is now discussing the reasons behind her departure and comeback.
Back in 2014 with my final screen appearance in “Annie,” I made a personal decision that felt like the right move for me. It was time to step away from acting and focus on reclaiming my own life. Frankly, nothing else mattered – not opinions, not success stories, not job offers or anything else. My choice to prioritize self-care and create the life I truly desired couldn’t be swayed by anyone or anything.
Over the past ten years, Diaz has tied the knot with rock musician Benji Madden from Good Charlotte, and they’ve become parents to a daughter named Raddix and a son called Cardinal. Additionally, in 2020, she started a clean wine brand called Avaline together with her partner Katherine Power.
Currently, Diaz will make a comeback to the silver screen next year on Netflix’s “Back in Action,” alongside Jamie Foxx. Additionally, she’s rumored to reappear in “Shrek 5,” and negotiations are underway for her to co-star with Keanu Reeves in the dark comedy “Outcome.
Diaz shared that the timing felt perfect for her return to Hollywood. Following the pandemic, the family had been spending a considerable amount of time at home, which was wonderful but could have potentially continued indefinitely. People might have thought, ‘It’s all over,’ but for Diaz, it wasn’t. She needed to motivate herself; her husband, who has always been supportive, encouraged her by saying, ‘You’ve been taking care of us and growing our family, now it’s time for us to support you and let you shine.’ He urged her on, saying, ‘I want to see what you can do.’ So, with his encouragement, Diaz decided to take the plunge.
She mentioned that for the Netflix project, she found it difficult to refuse Jamie’s invitation. He had said, “Come with me,” and she responded, “Alright, let’s do it.” It marks their third film collaboration, which makes it particularly exciting. They have previously worked together on the movie Annie in 1982 and the 1999 film Any Given Sunday.
