Picture the Panchayat series without Jitendra Kumar, a show focusing on rural life and the panchayat office. It’s tough to envision, isn’t it? However, here’s an intriguing fact: Initially, Jitendra Kumar himself was hesitant about the project. He believed that Panchayat might resemble The Office, a US series, and questioned if it suited him perfectly. Unbeknownst to him, his character would eventually become one of the most memorable roles in the streaming world.
According to PTI’s report, it turns out that Jitendra Kumar, who stars as Abhishek Tripathi in Panchayat, wasn’t originally planned to be in the show at first.
He mentioned that he wasn’t anticipating being part of the TV program, since its initial idea revolved around a local government office, much like the American show “The Office,” featuring just a handful of main characters working indoors.
After careful investigation and site visits, the creators found that the story needed more space than just the office setting. As a result, they chose to broaden the scope of the story and explore the wider world.
Jitendra Kumar shared that he started working on the Panchayat series when they were looking for a panchayat secretary. He went on to say that it was then that he was given the part of Abhishek, the Panchayat clerk, which marked the beginning of his involvement with the show.
Looking back at the early days of filming, Jitendra confessed he felt quite jittery, doubting whether his acting was effectively conveying what was meant.
Jitendra Kumar admitted to having doubts about whether the subtler humor in the show would connect as well as the more obvious jokes. He confessed to feeling anxious and grappling with finding the perfect balance, since it was a character unlike any role he had taken on before. However, once the TVF team viewed the footage, they encouraged him by saying he was heading in the right direction.
He mentioned that they motivated him to keep abiding by the advice of Chandan Kumar, the scriptwriter, and reassured him that everything was progressing smoothly.
1) The assistance eased his worries, making him take pleasure in the experience more. Jitendra further showed his appreciation towards his skilled fellow actors, such as Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sunita Rajwar, Chandan, and Faisal Malik, who significantly contributed to his development along the way. The upcoming season of Panchayat will air on July 2, 2025.
