Cardi B Drops “Outside,” Her First Song of 2025

Cardi B is back, and she’s “Outside.”

In 2025, the Grammy-winning artist released her initial track for the year, titled “Outside,” which signifies her first standalone project following last year’s single “Enough (Miami).” She dropped it on a Friday.

She sings in the chorus, ‘I’m stepping outside because it’s too hot out / I was playing games, but now you’re on timeout,'”

This version maintains the original meaning while using clear and natural language that is easier to understand for a broader audience.

Cardi B hinted at her new track on Instagram on Wednesday by saying, “We’re going OUTSIDE this Friday!!” She also posted a picture of the song’s cover art, which depicts the aftermath of a summer block party in New York City, complete with a gushing fire hydrant, scattered red Solo cups, dominoes, and discarded blunt wrappers.

Before its official debut, Cardi B had previously showcased her new track “Outside” at the Spotify Beach event in France on a Wednesday.

In the opening verse, she expresses her opinion by saying, “When I say these men are worthless, take my word for it / They’ll take advantage of anything, they’re far too weak / Good for nothing, dishonest, filthy creatures, I have no doubt / The next time you see your mother, tell her how she raised a disrespectful woman.

Cardi B is quite accustomed to releasing chart-topping singles since she’s managed to secure the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 a total of five times. Among her hits are “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)”, “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and most recently, “Up”.

Since her debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” in 2018, Cardi B hasn’t put out another album yet, but she’s mentioned that she’s been busy working on her second studio album. However, its release has been held up as she waits for contributions from other artists who are set to feature on the album.
