As a dedicated fan of Carlita, I eagerly anticipate her upcoming debut album “Sentimental.” Her journey as a DJ and producer is nothing short of inspiring, with each track serving as a testament to her resilience and creativity. The lead single “The Moment” featuring SG Lewis, a reworked version of an old track that she accidentally stumbled upon, perfectly encapsulates the sentimental value Carlita places on her musical journey.
Carlita unveiled plans for her first album titled Sentimental, and introduced the opening track “The Moment,” which includes collaboration with SG Lewis. This 12-track collection promises to reveal a fresh aspect of Carlita, as she ventures beyond her usual boundaries to experiment with various music genres. The songs pay homage to her cultural background and personal journeys. Carlita pays tribute to her Italian ancestry in “Comme Ça Voce,” while “Trouble Symphony” showcases DJ Tennis, both artists having started their careers together.
“Carlita’s latest release, ‘The Moment’, embodies her unique style and vibe, with a lively club rhythm. SG Lewis’ melodious voice harmonizes beautifully with the synth beat, and numerous dance-worthy beat drops create an energetic atmosphere perfect for hitting the dance floor.”
In 2015, ‘The Moment’ was my very first produced track, and I selected it for my album announcement because of its deep personal significance. It brings back memories as I stumbled upon the file by chance while looking for another project, and it was an awe-inspired moment. SG Lewis graciously agreed to lend his voice to the track, and together we revamped and updated the original version to create ‘The Moment’. Many studio sessions followed, and our collaboration resulted in a strong bond.
Apart from “The Moment,” two other songs titled “Time” and “Planet Blue” with Cleo Simone were previously released from the album. Notably, Carlita often chooses “Time” to conclude her performances due to its lively nature, making it an ideal choice for a dynamic finale.
After completing her album, Carlita plans to carry on with her Europe and U.S. tour, visiting cities like Cannes, Mykonos, New York City, Ibiza, and San Francisco. Her tour will end on October 6 in Essaouira, Morocco.
Take a listen to “The Moment” below. Carlita’s debut album Sentimental is out on November 15.
