As a fashion enthusiast who’s been around the block a few times, I must say that Casablanca‘s Spring 2025 collection at Paris Fashion Week was nothing short of electrifying! The way designer Charaf Tajer seamlessly blended his personal experiences with the vibrant culture of Los Angeles was nothing short of genius.
wrapping up the fourth day in Paris, Casablanca ignited excitement among attendees with a dazzling automobile-themed display during the Spring 2025 fashion presentation, highlighting their popular post-sports style in the heart of the city.
As a gamer, I designed this collection with a nod to the vibrant subcultures of Los Angeles – a city that’s always held me in its grip of fascination. To set the scene for my world, I adorned the runway with four cars, each uniquely modified to represent the spirit of automotive culture. The orange 1984 Buick at the end of the catwalk is my personal favorite – it was my very first car! It feels full circle to share this piece of my past in my collection today.
However, these cars symbolized more than just adolescent recollections; they were unique artworks, individually designed and customized to honor the Mexican-American Lowriders of Los Angeles, a community that Tajer found many similarities with his own Moroccan-French working-class background.
On the runway, models such as Lucky Blue Smith and Alton Mason skillfully dodged neon vehicles while showcasing Tajer’s newest tennis-themed outfits in a variety of captivating colors and materials – each piece reflecting the same level of expressiveness as their stylish mood board. Denim, sparkling with glitter, collided with traditional kaleidoscopic shirts, while tops resembling jersey and surfing gear seemed eager for their next thrilling escapade. In essence, Casablanca accelerated full-throttle towards what it does best: delivering a vibrant, daring message.
