As a seasoned gym-goer and sauna enthusiast who’s been through more than a few waterlogged watches during my steamy sessions, this Casio CPP-002 sauna watch has caught my attention! The idea of a watch that can withstand the heat and humidity of a sauna without skipping a beat is music to my ears.

Casio’s new watch wants to book a trip to the spa.

Known as the Casio CPP-002, this rugged timepiece has been designed to endure steamy conditions like those found in a sauna, where regular watches often struggle against high temperatures. Starting on December 2, you can support the production of this sauna-friendly watch through a crowdfunding campaign on Japan’s Makuake platform, which will run for three months.

The watch will be delivered in three versions:

Each model boasts a 35.44mm-broad construction, sporting an analog-inspired dial and a 12-minute timer designed expressly for sauna use. The gadget rests comfortably on an adjustable band, reminiscent of the ones commonly found on gym locker keys.

This watch, weighing approximately 24.5 grams, offers a water resistance rating of 5 ATM (equivalent to 50 meters) and a heat-resistant battery that typically lasts for about five years. Furthermore, its resin body features low moisture permeability, shielding it from the steamy and humid environment often found in saunas to preserve its condition.
