As a seasoned gamer with a knack for spotting patterns between the worlds of gaming and cinema, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon learning about the latest addition to the star-studded cast of “RIP”. Catalina Sandino Moreno and Néstor Carbonell joining forces in this crime thriller promises an electrifying blend of their exceptional acting talents.
Actress Catalina Sandino Moreno and actor Néstor Carbonell have signed on for the esteemed ensemble of the crime thriller series titled “RIP“, which is being produced by none other than Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Director Joe Carnahan, known for action and thriller movies like “The Grey” and “Copshop”, is directing a new project that features Sasha Calle (“The Flash”) and actress-turned-singer Teyana Taylor. The film will start shooting later this month in both Miami and Los Angeles.
The production of this feature is being handled by Artists Equity, the artist studio co-founded by Affleck and Damon. Besides them, Luciana Damon and Dani Bernfeld are also involved in the production process. Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran serve as executive producers for Artists Equity.
In this gripping crime drama, a group of Miami policemen stumble upon large sums of money hidden away in a dilapidated warehouse. However, strict police protocols demand they remain at the scene. As trust within the team gradually erodes, word leaks out about the fortune hidden there. This leak sets the stage for the officers to find themselves in an untenable and dangerous predicament, as external forces close in on them.
Moreno and Carbonell are playing members of the police force.
Moreno was previously featured in the MGM+ supernatural drama “From” as part of an ensemble cast and acted alongside Joel Kinnaman in the 2020 John Woo action film “Silent Night”. Notably, this actress gained recognition with her role in 2004’s “Maria Full of Grace”. Upcoming, she is set to appear in Lionsgate’s spinoff of “John Wick”, titled “Ballerina”. Represented by UTA, Lasher Group and Felker Toczek, this actress will soon be gracing our screens once again.
I, Carbonell, recently graced this year’s Emmy-winning “Shogun” series and am proud to be a member of the main cast in Apple’s hit show, “The Morning Show.” Represented by IAG and Thruline Entertainment, I look forward to what the future holds for my acting career.
