Chappell Roan Announces Pop Up Shows in L.A., NY and Kansas City

Chappell Roan is giving fans a chance to see her live.

The performer has revealed a series of surprise concerts, named “Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things,” scheduled for Forest Hills, New York, Kansas City, Missouri, and Pasadena. The tour begins with four performances at Forest Hills Stadium in September, followed by two shows at the Museum and Memorial Park in Missouri. The tour concludes with two performances at Pasadena’s Brookside at the Rose Bowl.

The singer expressed great enthusiasm about presenting ‘Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things’ in New York, Kansas City, and L.A. This year, they wanted to create something unique for these cities that hold a special place in their heart.

Ever since I hit the stage, it’s been my dream to make every show a bash that everyone can join. To achieve this, I aim to keep ticket prices budget-friendly and out of reach for scalpers. The Fair AXS ticketing system we’re implementing for these events is one step towards guaranteeing that tickets land in the hands of fans who genuinely want to attend.

Roan mentioned that for every ticket sold, she’ll contribute a dollar to charities that aid and empower transgender youth. She emphasized that it’s crucial for her to return something to the Trans community, as they have significantly impacted her throughout her entire career, according to her statement.

As a die-hard fan of Roan, I’ve been buzzing with excitement lately! Posters popping up around NYC and what seems like a sneak peek from an enthusiast’s account on social media are hinting at the upcoming release of her new single, “The Subway.” This 27-year-old pop sensation has been performing this track at various festivals, but we haven’t heard the studio version yet. Just last month, she graced us with a live performance of it at Primavera Sound. I can hardly wait until Thursday to finally get my hands on this anticipated single!

As a gamer, I’ve been noticing some posters around New York that read, “Feeling heartbroken? Get a fringe!” with an image of Roan. A video, featuring what appears to be a studio version of “The Subway,” shows a truck with the license plate “THE SBWY” traveling along the road. As the vehicle moves, you can catch glimpses of Roan’s signature red hair fluttering in the wind as it passes by a Saskatchewan welcome sign. The song’s snippet reveals lyrics, “I made a vow / If these feelings persist after four months, I’ll ditch this city / I’m heading to Saskatchewan.

Registration for tickets to the pop-up shows begins on July 24th and continues until July 27th at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
