Chappell Roan Offers Fierce Performance of “Good Luck, Babe” at 2024 MTV VMAs

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen my fair share of virtual concerts and performances, let me tell you, Chappell Roan’s VMA performance was nothing short of electrifying! The medieval vibe, her powerful vocals, and the dancers in their medieval-inspired attire made for a captivating spectacle.

I graced the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards last night, belting out my smash hit “Good Luck, Babe.” (It’s a pretty cool feeling, let me tell you!)

Following an introduction from Sasha Colby as “the beloved artist of your favorite drag queen,” the performer made their entrance, attired in a costume reminiscent of medieval armor, with a backdrop of a burning castle.

During the intense show, Roan didn’t shy away from delivering powerful vocals while performers adorned in outfits inspired by the Middle Ages displayed their dance routines nearby.

This year, Roan received nominations for not one but two Video Music Awards (VMAs). One of these nominations was for the category “Best New Artist,” while the other was for the “MTV Push Performance of the Year” for his song “Red Wine Supernova”, which he performed in March.

During an earlier evening event, as Roan gracefully walked the red carpet in a costume reminiscent of the Middle Ages, there was an apparent exchange with a photographer. After Roan turned away from the camera, the photographer seemed to say, “Be quiet,” to which Roan retorted, showing swift reaction, “You be quiet too! Don’t you dare talk to me like that!” or simply “You shut up! Don’t speak to me like that!

Roan’s career soared after the launch of her first album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” released in 2023. Not only did several of her songs land on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with “Good Luck, Babe!” reaching No. 6, but this artist has also drawn huge audiences at music festivals across the nation, even though she wasn’t the main act.

Four weeks was all it took, as she shared during her talk with Bowen Yang on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last month for Interview magazine,” she said. “Unexpectedly, my album which released in September [2023] had made it to the charts.

As her fame grows, the “Hot To Go!” performer has not only gained recognition but also expressed concerns about inappropriate fan behavior. She’s urged fans to respect boundaries by asking them to stop touching her, to be considerate towards her loved ones, and to avoid making assumptions about her personal life.

On Wednesday evening, the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), which took place at Long Island’s UBS Arena and were hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, unfolded.
