As a die-hard fan who has followed Charli XCX’s career from her early days, I must say this latest move is nothing short of exhilarating! The girl who brought us anthems like “Boom Clap” and “After the Afterparty” is now stepping into the world of film, and not just any film, but a provocative masterpiece by the one and only Gregg Araki.
Charli XCX will be showcasing her rebellious side on the silver screen, securing her second live-action movie appearance in the upcoming project by director Gregg Araki.
The musician-composer will appear in the films “I Want Your Love” from Black Bear, alongside Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, who gained fame from Licorice Pizza. Co-written by Karley Sciortino and Araki, filming for this production is set to start in Los Angeles during October.
“In the movie, naive Elliot (Hoffman) gets an enticing job from famous artist, Erika Tracy (Wilde), who is known for being bold, controversial, and seductive. As she chooses him to inspire her sexually, Elliot experiences a dream come true. However, he quickly realizes that the experience goes beyond his expectations, leading him into a world filled with sex, obsession, power struggles, deceit, and even murder.”
As a passionate admirer, I’m excited to share that the upcoming project, “I Want Your Sex,” is being brought to life by Black Bear. Alongside Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler, Seth Caplan, Araki, and Sciortino are set to produce this film. John Friedberg, Joanne Roberts Wiles, and Courtney L. Cunniff will take on the roles of executive producers.
Black Bear is handling international rights and CAA Media Finance is set to handle U.S.
Pop artist Charli XCX, managed by CAA, is set to venture into live-action acting for the first time in “Faces of Death,” a remake of the iconic ’70s horror film produced by Legendary. The movie is being helmed by director Daniel Goldhaber, known for “How to Blow Up a Pipeline.” This summer, Charli XCX dropped her sixth studio album titled “brat,” which has earned rave reviews as one of the top albums of the year.
