As a seasoned traveler and music enthusiast with a penchant for unique experiences, I must say that the new jazz club at Lopota Lake Resort & Spa in Georgia has undeniably piqued my interest. Having traversed the globe in search of hidden gems, this establishment, nestled amidst the stunning Caucasus Mountains, promises to be a captivating addition to my ever-expanding list of must-visit destinations.
A new jazz club has opened its doors in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Housed with the Lopota Lake Resort & Spa, a family-owned resort surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, the club was a project years in the making.
Goga Maisuradze, the late owner of Lopota, first ideated the jazz club and bar years ago. The vision has now been brought to life, helmed by David Koiava of the Georgian architecture firm Design Avenue Studio.
Koiava aimed to make the building harmonize with its surrounding environment by using mountain hues and materials such as wood, concrete, and stone in its construction. This two-story club is predominantly made of these natural elements. The architectural design includes rounded structures and imposing columns, interspersed with slender trees.
Just outside the club’s entrance, you’ll find an open-air atrium perfect for warmer days. Inside, it’s comfortably dim and snug, with hues of blue, brown, and mustard adorning the space. This venue can accommodate up to 150 guests simultaneously, who can enjoy live music echoing from two floors. Both levels provide an unobstructed view of the main stage.
In light of Lopota being a family-oriented resort, its owner, Goga Maisuradze, aimed to establish an area where visitors could relax late into the evening, ensuring peacefulness at the property for adult guests. Notably, this is Georgia’s first jazz club in terms of visual design, concept, and space, as jazz clubs in Georgia are typically underground.” – Ana Maisuradze explained.
