Cheerleading Comedy ‘Stumble’ Lands NBC Series Order

NBC is adding to its comedy roster.

A sequence has been set for the television program titled “Stumble,” which revolves around the coach, Jenn Lyon, of a local college cheerleading squad. This series is brought to us by creators Jeff and Liz Astrof, along with Universal Television.

The show titled “Stumble” will be paired with the first-year comedy series “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe, in NBC’s lineup for 2025-26. As of now, the network’s fall schedule has two vacant half-hour time slots on Mondays and Fridays. It’s anticipated, though NBC hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, that these new shows will take those spots. The second-year series “St. Denis Medical” (Monday) and “Happy’s Place” (Friday) are scheduled to complete the hour-long comedy blocks on those nights.

NBC additionally presents a comedy pilot conceived by Rutherford Falls’ creator, Sierra Teller Ornelas, in collaboration with Jackie Kaliiaa and Bobby Wilson. This pilot revolves around the team at a Native community center based in Oakland, California. At this point, NBC is still deliberating on its decision regarding this project.

In addition to Lyon (Sirens, Claws), the cast of Stumble features Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar, and Georgie Murphy. Kristin Chenoweth will appear frequently in the series. The show’s premise is that Coach Courteney Potter is aiming to motivate her newly assembled junior college cheer squad to secure their 15th championship victory and positively impact their lives throughout the process.

Jeff Astrof (Shining Vale, Trial & Error) and Liz Astrof (Fox’s Pivoting, 2 Broke Girls) are writers and executive producers of Stumble. Dana Honor (via her Defining Eve Productions) and Monica Aldama also exec produce; Jeff Blitz directed and executive produced the pilot episode.
