Chhaava star Vicky Kaushal recalls his decision to change profession after ‘visiting multinational company’; ‘Couldn’t see myself stuck in…’

As a lifestyle expert looking back at the captivating journey of Vicky Kaushal, I am truly inspired by his resilience and determination to carve out a path that resonates with his passions. His story serves as a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most unexpected turns in life can lead us to our true calling.

Vicky Kaushal is the son of action director Sham Kaushal, but he didn’t initially plan on becoming an actor or joining the entertainment world. Instead, after finishing his post-graduation, Vicky had plans to move abroad. However, a visit to a multinational company during an industrial tour made him reconsider his choices. He felt that working in a cubicle wasn’t for him, which prompted him to switch career paths.

In an open conversation with Harper’s Bazaar India’s online version, Vicky Kaushal reflected on his past and the reasons behind his career switch. It’s worth noting that before venturing into acting, Vicky had earned a degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering. Similar to many parents, Vicky’s father aspired for him to have a secure profession, contrasting with the unpredictable nature of showbusiness.

Initially intending a conventional 9-5 career path after studying both science and engineering, the actor from Bad Newz had different plans in store. Unbeknownst to him, his true passions were somewhere else.

During my college years, I had initially planned to take the traditional path, possibly moving overseas following my postgraduate studies. However, everything shifted dramatically after I visited a multinational corporation during an industrial tour.

The industrial tour at a multinational corporation significantly transformed his perspective as the work environment provided him with a sneak peek of his future and the inner workings of the corporate world. Kausal shared, “Upon entering that office, it became clear to me that it wasn’t suitable for me. I couldn’t envision myself confined to a cubicle; I would be utterly miserable.

Ultimately, the actor chose to switch careers and abandoned his original intention of working a typical 9-5 job. Over time, he immersed himself in acting by studying, joining theater productions, auditioning, and even announcing roles to understudies. Finally, his hard work paid off when he landed his first film role in Masaan, which significantly altered the course of his life.

I can’t help but share my excitement as I recount the latest news about Vicky Kaushal! Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, he was starring alongside Triptii Dimri and Ammy Vikrant in Bad Newz. But wait, there’s more! The anticipation is building as he’s set to appear alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in the upcoming film Chhaava. Simply outstanding! I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for these fantastic collaborations!

Simultaneously, the movie has been given the green light by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and runs for approximately three hours and ten minutes. Additionally, he is also working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film titled Love and War, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
