Chhaava: Vicky Kaushal’s co-actor Divya Dutta says he would refuse to leave sets before doing THIS; ‘One of the finest…’

Vicky Kaushal is gearing up to charm viewers with his upcoming movie titled Chhaava. This period drama, led by director Laxman Utekar, boasts an impressive cast that includes Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Divya Dutta. In a recent chat, Dutta discussed her experience working alongside Kaushal and fondly recounted an endearing tale, stating, “Vicky is simply lovely. He wouldn’t rest until he had signaled his co-actors. I would tell him to leave, but he wouldn’t comply.” She also expressed her admiration for him by saying, “he ranks among the best actors in our industry.

During an interview with Mid Day, Divya Dutta – starring alongside Vicky Kaushal in the film Chhaava – praised her co-star. She mentioned that Vicky is genuinely endearing and consistently provided helpful directions on set to his fellow actors.

She pointed out that when she asked him to depart, he’d always decline, demonstrating his dedication. Dutta additionally emphasized their connection, explaining they often spoke in Punjabi, thereby strengthening their close friendship. She admired Kaushal, stating he is an exceptional actor, and furthermore noted his humility and modesty as striking qualities, even amidst his remarkable acting skills.

Thrilled to join the historical drama depicting the rule of a Maratha king, Dutta contemplated her characterization of Soyarabai – the stepmother of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, known for her intrigues against him.

Initially, when director Laxman Utekar presented the role to her, she discovered it was unlike any other role she had taken on previously. Particularly striking were the character’s appearance and demeanor. She observed that donning a particular style of clothing and immersing herself in her character’s world made her feel as if she had been magically transported to another place.

Besides sharing her appreciation for Utekar’s directing skills, Dutta mentioned that the shots he took sent shivers down her spine and labeled the movie as visually captivating. She was thrilled to have been involved in such an amazing production.

In the upcoming movie, Vicky will portray the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who is the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A sneak peek of the film, unveiled in August 2024, displayed an unprecedented appearance by Vicky as he stepped into this new role.

Discussing other endeavors of Kaushal, he is expected to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film titled Love & War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. As of now, this movie is under production. Additionally, he has a project named Mahavatar with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik scheduled for the future.
