After all, I’m the one who rooted for Gabby and Matt during their rocky journey through foster parenting, even though we all know how that turned out (rest in peace Louie).

How about rejuvenating an old story by taking it in a completely new direction? Instead of having Stella gracefully deal with her predicament, what if she struggles intensely when she loses control over her body and life? Perhaps she despises the physical constraints she’s under, finding them unbearable. Why not make her an inept mother – someone who struggles terribly at parenting, despite her initial shock? It could be that she never finds comfort in this role, even when Kelly seems to thrive as a father. After all, even the most heroic characters can falter as parents. This would certainly introduce some complexity to Stella’s previously flawless character, adding layers of nuance and gray tones.
Could the storyline of Chicago Fire in Season 13 be spiced up by introducing some paternal feelings that Kelly might be experiencing towards his newly discovered half-brother, Jack Damon (Michael Bradway)? This emotional revelation could have been set during the Season 12 finale, presenting a surprising twist. As Kelly contemplates his yearning to become a father, he may find himself nurturing and guiding Jack instead. Perhaps this experience will make him realize that patience is key, and that he needs to wait before becoming someone’s father.
