My move to Los Angeles was primarily due to Monica Raymund offering her home during the COVID period, and I grew fond of the area. We were truly a family. Eventually, I felt it was time for me to move on. The decision was mine. I wasn’t sure how they would write my character off the show.

In his character’s last moments, it seems that Sardarov found the process particularly challenging.

In that final moment, the emotion was incredibly intense. This was the last scene I filmed, and in it, Joe Cruz stood by my deathbed. The feelings I’m evoking are genuine because this marked the end of my character’s storyline. It can be challenging to let go when one has a sense of purpose, such as being part of a network television show that requires waking up at 5 a.m. in bitter cold weather.

Although Otis’ demise carried an air of finality, it was undeniably painful and gruesome, leaving one to ponder if there could have been a more organic exit for the character. However, during a past interview, Sardarov mentioned that this death was crucial as it allowed him to progress, and it was unexpected by fans. It seems that he and series co-creator Derek Haas deliberated over it extensively. Merely contemplating it now leaves me in tears once more.
