Chicago Med May Be Setting Archer Up For A Big Fall, But Steven Weber And Jessy Schram Are All Smiles In A Cute BTS Pic

Warning! I don’t want to ruin it for you if you haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve just watched the latest episode of Chicago Med Season 10 titled “Poster Child.” If you have a Peacock subscription, you can catch up on this gripping drama now!

In the initial episode of the 2025 TV schedule, Chicago Med didn’t disappoint, building upon Ripley‘s brush with death. The narrative unfolded with Luke Mitchell’s character being reinstated due to his bravery in the mini crossover with Chicago Fire, Goodwin encountering a woman who held her accountable for her daughter’s coma, Lenox attempting to socialize more at her brother’s urging, and Frost dismissing Ainsley, although it remains uncertain if he’s completely free from her influence. In the episode titled “Poster Child,” Archer was absent, but his role seems set to be significant in the upcoming installment, which may present some challenges for him.

On Wednesday, April 2nd at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, a fresh episode of “Chicago Med” will be broadcast. The title itself hints that it’s going to be an action-packed hour for the character portrayed by Steven Weber. Titled “The Book of Archer,” as per NBC’s description, it promises an engaging storyline.

In a simpler, more conversational style, the scenario could be rephrased as follows: Charles and Archer are caring for a heart transplant patient who feels that his new heart isn’t comfortable in his body. On the other hand, Lenox is taking some personal time off. Meanwhile, Hannah finds a growth on an expectant mother’s ovary during her examination.

To be honest, the description itself doesn’t suggest that this situation will be especially challenging for Archer, given his past experiences of collaborating with Dr. Charles in dealing with both mental and physical health issues of patients. However, a sneak peek shown after “Poster Child” on March 26 raised some concerns for me. Here it is:

In “The Book of Archer,” while Archer might have previously managed the ED independently from Lenox, it seems he may not be fully ready for the impending crises. However, we can count on Jessy Schram appearing in this episode, as Hannah often provides support for Archer. Notably, Hannah herself experienced an elevator malfunction in Season 10, and now it appears that Archer is set to face similar difficulties.

As a movie lover, I’m eagerly anticipating how far the doctor in “The Book of Archer” will push his limits before the story concludes. Meanwhile, I can’t help but appreciate the camaraderie between Steven Weber and Jessy Schram, as evidenced by this fun behind-the-scenes photo that he shared. Here it is:

In “The Book of Archer,” it seems unlikely Steven Weber (as Dean) will be grinning much unless the story begins favorably for him. Fingers crossed that the day doesn’t turn out terribly, or else Archer might reconsider his commitment to Gaffney. Given that Season 10 is nearing its end and tension always escalates in One Chicago during springtime, let’s hope for a positive resolution!

Tune into NBC every Wednesday evening for a thrilling three-hour block of One Chicago shows. The night kicks off with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by “Chicago Fire” at 9 p.m. ET, and wrapping up with “Chicago P.D.” at 10 p.m. ET. Currently, NBC has not confirmed any renewals for the series, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for some positive updates soon!
