For some time now, Steven Weber’s character Dean Archer hasn’t had much opportunity for laughter, but the show “Acid Test” offers him a surprising abundance of humor. In an unexpected turn of events, Dean unintentionally takes LSD which leads to a whimsical, introspective day at work filled with trips and giggles. Moreover, this incident makes him vulnerable emotionally, leading him to express to Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) what she truly deserves in life.

He expresses his regret that Hannah isn’t aware of it, but she carries an aura of light with her everywhere she goes. Given the hardships she’s faced and her daily grind at work, it’s understandable for her to be skeptical. Yet, she remains hopeful, optimistic, and compassionate. He chuckles at the thought that she might not recognize this about herself. “You truly deserve more than you think,” he continues, “and unfortunately, you don’t see that I do.

It seems they might be considering another partnership between Hannah and Dean, which is an intriguing move given that Hannah recently split with Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell), who remains part of the series. Could this lead to a love triangle? The upcoming episodes hint at Hannah potentially still harboring feelings for her ex, as he risks his life.

Will Ripley’s heroics put him ahead in the race for Hannah’s heart?

Following the events depicted in “Take a Look in the Mirror,” Mitch Ripley finds himself in a precarious situation. His heavy drinking and reckless behavior resulted in one of his patients being harmed, which later required attention at the ER. Trying to hide his mistake, he eventually comes clean about what happened. However, it seems that his job is now at risk due to these actions.

The previews for “Down in a Hole” hint that Mitch’s path to redemption is near as he discovers a child and mother trapped in a well. Joining forces with some characters from “Chicago Fire”, they attempt a rescue, but an accident causes a cave-in. Hannah learns about the danger Mitch is in. Could this harrowing experience bring them closer despite the show’s initial mismatch? Will it end tragically for Mitch or will there be redemption, victory, and love instead?
