Chlöe Announces Sophomore Album 'Trouble In Paradise'

As a gamer with a soft spot for R&B music, I can hardly contain my excitement for Chlöe’s sophomore album “Trouble in Paradise.” Having grown up listening to the soulful harmonies of Chlöe x Halle, I’ve eagerly watched their careers blossom, and this upcoming release feels like a much-anticipated reunion.

Chloe has unveiled her second studio album titled “Trouble in Paradise,” following the release of her first album “In Pieces” last year. The artist shared the album cover and its upcoming release date (August 9th) on Instagram, having hinted at it for several months prior.

The majority of the album was produced in the tropical island of Saint Lucia, a place where the singer expressed songs centered around embracing her womanhood and enjoying the Caribbean vibe. This upcoming album brings Chlöe x Halle back together, with Halle appearing on the track titled “Want Me.”

As a longtime music enthusiast who grew up listening to R&B and pop tunes, I find Chlöe’s latest singles “FYS” and “Boy Bye” from her album of the same name to be an empowering and refreshing change in today’s music scene. As a woman who has faced my fair share of boy problems in the past, I can relate to the themes and messages that Chlöe is conveying through her lyrics.

Trouble in Paradise comes out this Friday, August 9. You can stream “Boy Bye” and “FYS” down below.
