As a lifelong Marvel fan who has witnessed the epic saga unfold since its humble beginnings, I must say that the potential return of Chris Evans as Captain America in “Avengers: Doomsday” is nothing short of exhilarating! The thought of seeing Steve Rogers back in action, even if it’s a different take on the character, has me buzzing with anticipation.
There’s a possibility that Chris Evans might reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the forthcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” movie.
According to The Wrap, it’s uncertain how much Chris Evans will appear in the movie Doomsday. Although Evans officially ended his long-standing role as Captain America/Steve Rogers in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame by having Steve retire, The Wrap hints that his role could mirror Robert Downey Jr.’s (Iron Man/Tony Stark), who died in Endgame but will reappear as a different character, Doctor Doom, in Doomsday. Additionally, there are rumors about Evans possibly reprising his old role as Johnny Storm from the Fox Fantastic Four films, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Neither Marvel nor Evans have commented on the rumor.
Avengers: Doomsday will be helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo and is set to premiere in May 1, 2026.
