This potential replacement is Brandon Sklenar, known for his work in the Yellowstone universe’s 1923 series. Recently, Sklenar has been making headlines due to his part in the contentious film It Ends With Us.

Taylor Sheridan’s Next Film Will Allegedly Center On A DEA Agent Taking Down Major Drug Dealers

The upcoming movie is rumored to center around a former Marine who transitioned into a DEA agent, engaging in covert operations to dismantle major drug trafficking networks. Initially, Pratt was linked to this role, but since it was initially announced six years ago, there are numerous possibilities as to why he might no longer be involved with the film.

Based on who the ex-Marine character is, Pratt might have outgrown the role due to aging if he’s portraying a fresh or inexperienced DEA agent. However, age may not necessarily be an issue; financial aspects could come into play instead. Initially, it was mentioned that ‘Fast’ had a budget of $70-80 million. Given this budget, Pratt might now be too costly to retain, especially considering his rise in fame since 2018, which has likely led to a significant increase in his pay rate, potentially consuming too much of the allocated budget.

It’s possible that there are personal factors at play too, but we won’t venture into those guesses.
