Chris Pratt’s 2-Word Reaction To Netflix’s Electric State Is Wild!

As a dedicated cinephile, I can’t help but reminisce about the time when Chris Pratt and the Russo Brothers joined forces. They were instrumental in creating the epic saga of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame,” which went on to become the second highest-grossing films ever made. Now, their partnership has led them to the highly anticipated 2025 Netflix release, “The Electric State.” With its science fiction genre, this movie has been a hot topic among us film enthusiasts, and it’s no surprise that it’s currently enjoying its second week at the top of the global Netflix charts. Needless to say, Chris Pratt is basking in the success!

According to Netflix, The Electric State has already earned 22.5 million views from those with a Netflix subscription, making it the most watched movie on the streaming service for two weeks in a row. The global top 10 is a combination of all the viewing that occurs on Netflix around the world, so it’s definitely worth pointing out. Check out Pratt’s message on Instagram:

The film titled “The Electric State” is a science fiction adventure based on an illustrated novel by Swedish author-artist Simon Stålenhag. The screenplay was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who have also contributed to various Marvel Cinatic Universe (MCU) movies, as well as the Chronicles of Narnia films and another successful Netflix series, “The Gray Man”.

As a film enthusiast, I’d put it like this: In the year 1990, where humanity and machines are locked in conflict, leaving Earth in disarray, I find myself immersed in the captivating tale of “The Electric State.” This story follows Michelle, a teenage girl portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, who’s recently lost her family. After setting out on a mission to locate her brother, she encounters the sentient robot Cosmo and together they traverse a post-apocalyptic world. Along the way, they meet Keats, played by Pratt, and form an alliance with a motley crew of robots, including the unexpected character of Mr. Peanut. Yes, you heard it right – Mr. Peanut is part of this movie!

It’s advantageous that the film project was spearheaded by an actor playing a role reminiscent of Star-Lord, alongside Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. Although Chris Pratt hasn’t starred in a Netflix movie previously, Millie Bobby Brown has been in numerous top-charting Netflix films, including last year’s Damsel, which currently ranks as the 9th most popular Netflix film of all time. Interestingly, The Gray Man by the Russo Brothers is just one spot ahead at No. 8.

Despite Chris Pratt’s film “The Electric State” enjoying a high-profile release with considerable success, the public response towards the movie has been somewhat divided. Critics found it unappealing, labeling it as “unoriginal” and “devoid of soul.” TopMob’s review for “The Electric State” rated it 2.5 out of 5 stars, describing its dialogue as “entirely predictable and soon to be forgotten.” However, the Rotten Tomatoes score did not align with the audience sentiment, as fans awarded it a 70%, in contrast to a mere 15%.

Since there’s no other film featuring a prominent actor set to release before April 25, when Tom Hardy’s “Havoc” hits the screens, “The Electric State” might continue to hold its place as a popular choice worldwide for several weeks.
