Christina Haack Says Josh Hall ‘Doesn’t Count’ As Her Flip Off Partner, And She Has Some Good Reasons Why

Regardless of opinions about HGTV star Christina Haack from her popular show “Flip or Flop”, it’s clear that she possesses a resilient “never give up” attitude which may have helped her endure a tumultuous decade on a personal level. As a mother of three, she has gone through two divorces, remarried twice, welcomed another child, and is currently in the midst of separating from her third husband, Josh Hall, under challenging circumstances. In an interesting development, she recently stated on her new series, “The Flip Off”, that Hall should not be considered her partner on the show, and it’s tough not to sympathize with her logical stance.

What Did Christina Haack Say About Josh Hall Not Counting As Her Partner On The Flip Off?

Initially, it was revealed that The Flip Off would debut on the 2025 TV lineup, featuring Christina Haack and her husband Josh Hall teaming up against her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa. However, by summer 2024, things took a turn when the Halls decided to separate and initiated a contentious divorce process, altering the original plans for the show significantly.

In a more current event of the fresh HGTV home renovation contest (as reported by Us Weeky), Haack shared her feelings towards Hall, her past collaborator on the show. During a conversation with the El Moussas about her competition partner, Haack expressed:

During the latest installment of the HGTV house flipping contest (according to Us Weekly), Haack disclosed her sentiments towards Hall as her co-worker on the series. When discussing her teammate for the competition with the El Moussas, Haack spoke about:

I never said I had a partner from the start. Well, I had one. But he doesn’t count.

Wow, it seems her remark might come across as strong, but upon reflection, it’s actually less severe than some of the accusations she’s made about her former real estate agent. Also, consider that their split was depicted in Episode 1; therefore, he wasn’t part of the production for an extended period. Consequently, he doesn’t really qualify as her partner on “The Flip Off.

It appears that Haack had previously provided valid explanations as to why Hall’s experience on the house flipping competition should not be considered, even though they had a tense car conversation about it. As she shared with Us Weekly:

Working with Josh was quite challenging. He didn’t seem to grasp the concept. He would often get annoyed with me, saying things like ‘Oh, my goodness, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ I felt like reminding him, ‘I’m creating a TV show here.’ In retrosspect, it was best for the show that he left after Episode 1, as it would have been less than impressive otherwise. Josh is not the main character of this show; viewers wouldn’t even notice his absence. To be clear, Josh doesn’t fit the roles of a TV host, property flipper, or designer. He was simply my husband in the series. Despite this, I still maintain a level of respect for Tarek as we collaborated on building everything together. In contrast, I have no regard for Josh.

It’s clear that she is in the best position to decide if she should still hold respect for her latest ex, yet she presents valid arguments since he lacked experience as a TV host, public figure, or even as a recognized designer or home renovator.

Apart from stating that his “uneasiness” about her being too friendly with Tarek at times, resulting in them joking together, was a cause of concern for Hall, she further mentioned that this situation would often lead him to ignore her for a whole week whenever he spotted it. Furthermore, regardless of the complications that such behavior might have caused for the production team, it is likely for the best that they decided to part ways before their relationship and on-screen partnership became even more challenging to manage.
