Cillian Murphy Is Tommy Shelby Once Again as Production Begins on ‘Peaky Blinders’ Film

As a die-hard Peaky Blinders fan since its inception, I can hardly contain my excitement as Tommy Shelby returns to our screens! Cillian Murphy, the embodiment of Thomas Shelby, has reunited with the brilliant mind behind the series, Steven Knight, and it’s like coming home.

Tommy Shelby is back.

Cillian Murphy once again steps into his famous character from “Peaky Blinders” and joins forces with Steven Knight, creator of the popular Birmingham gangster series, as shown in a new image unveiled on Monday.

The Netflix film adaptation of “Peaky Blinders,” helmed by director Tom Harper, is now underway in production as confirmed on Monday. This highly praised six-season series boasts an impressive cast led by Oscar winner Murphy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, and Joe Cole. At present, Barry Keoghan from “Saltburn” and Rebecca Ferguson known for her role in “Dune” have been confirmed to join the movie cast.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share the excitement: “Under the command of the Peaky Blinders, it’s official – Tommy Shelby is making his return! The legendary Cillian Murphy and the brilliant Steven Knight are once again joining forces on set as we gear up for the upcoming Netflix film.” And here’s a sneak peek: the duo was snapped together for an exclusive post.

The show initially aired on BBC Two back in 2013, but later, Netflix got the license to broadcast it in the United States.

At the Royal Television Society’s London Convention last week, the knight remained silent about the movie’s storyline. During his speech, he simply mentioned, “It takes place during World War II and it’s excellent.” When news of the Peaky Blinders film was officially announced, Murphy expressed in a statement, “This is for the fans.

2022 saw the climax of the series with its sixth season, just prior to Robert’s starring role in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.” This performance earned him an Oscar.

In November, Murphy’s latest project, titled “Small Things Like These,” portraying the harrowing realities of Ireland’s abusive workhouses for unwed mothers, will debut in the United Kingdom on the 1st and in the United States on the 8th.
